Have had this guy for a couple months now. Has done well with good polyp extension and even some growth. Took about a week to acclimate to my reef and show good extension though but since then no problems.

About 2 days ago I added GFO for the first time to my filtration. Since then it has not has very much PE at all. The rest of my corals (hammers, frogspawns, mushrooms, zoas, montipora, and stylophora) all look great.

I am unable to test phosphates but just ordered a hanna checker. I can only assume they may have been a little high since I never did anything to reduce the but seachem seagel and water changes. I did add the suggested amount of GFO a per BRS instructions and think it may be a little much for first time use. The leather is still yellow and is not showing any signs of wasting or sliming. No black spots or anything just shriveled up. Im thinking I might have lowered the phosphate to quickly with the GFO and the leather is just taking some time to adjust to such a change, what do you guys think?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sounds like you know the answer.

Too much GFO for the first time, remove it or decrease the amount, or wait it out.

Well after 5 days or so it seems to be acclimating. Now just waiting on the zoas to get used to the lower phosphate levels and then all will be well.

I think Im going to run with the GFO at half dose from now on
