Is it me... or is this fish a real pain in the butt!
My tank looks dusty all the time from it stirring the sand...
sand is all over my rocks...

I know it's doing some good my getting debris from the substrate into the filtration system...

But isn't there some other way to get that going ...
perhaps a once a week powerhead blast or ...
maybe just some more snails and hermit crabs...

    Any thoughts...
I'd like to ditch him (sorry goby)

do you still have that anemone?

you're gonna think i'm being a ball buster but the goby would make a great full time qt tank resident

I loved the look of my yellow headed goby, but he was a pain in the ass. My husband complained about him messing up the tank, until he died (giant maroon clown harrased him). I will never buy another, but love to look at them in the fish store.

I've never been able to keep these fish alive for very long so your troubles may be temporary. I never cared for the fact that they dumped sand all over the corals on the sand or that they eat all of your sand bugs so even if I could keep them long term, I would never put one in my tank again.

    My thoughts exactly!
I'm going to trade him in for credit on something...
want to make sure its getting cared for!
Will I be losing on some kind of benefit he provided (sand-sifting for detritus) or something else that I'll have to replace or are my snails, hermits and powerheads fine along with a bi-weekly rake of the sand?

PS anemone died in quarantine at the lfs...
I think the power outage for 25 hours did it in.

Add some nassaruis snails if you don't have them already...
