I had 4 fish 2 oscellaris , a mandarin and a orange back wrasse and The one clownfish I believe has made the wrasse hide in the rock and now I have not seen it in a few days so I believe he is a goner. Anyone own a Rhinopias Scorpionfish. I can get a yellow one that is abo ut 5 -6 inches. I would have to give away my clownfish and mandarin though. I have a 46 gallon. What do people think? Should I go for it or find another peaceful tankmate for my fish?

I don't think that replacing the clownfish with a scorpionfish is going to resolve the problem.

one of the LFS by me has a yellow rhino....coolest looking fish I have seen...bigger then I thought he would be also. I have wanted an angler for a while but know how poor of shippers they are, so I have been watching this guy for the last couple of months debating whether or not I would get him instead. But the price tag is keeping me from getting him right now...plus I dont have a proper size tank available for him!

You would have to get rid of ALL your fish as he would eat them for sure. I read that some fish will also peck at the rhino such as angels and tangs as they think it is a sponge? I have also read that smaller tanks make it easier for the care of rhinos...

I found this article that is pretty good at describing the needs of a rhino....it was interesting to read that these fish will often get algea growing off of them because they are so sedentary.

If you do decide to get him post pictures...the one I saw is yellow with white dotty eyes...creepy looking but cool all the same!

    here is that article

oh I also just looked at your tank spec...you would have to get rid of your corals more then likely according to what I read and your shrimps would be a nice appetizer for him!
