    I saw a yellow Rhinopias fish at the local store then 3 weeks later he looked more yellowish brown. Today I was told he was sold last week about 2 weeks after I saw him and he was red. I know they can change color to match the surroundings but is that possible? Stayed in the same little holding tank the entire time

    Yes, they can change colors when they shed. Sometimes it's not camofluage though....sometimes it's brought on by stress.
