And yes the tank is fully covered and i search the back of the tank in case he could have jumped out while i was feeding the tank.

I could see the xmas wrasse giving her some issues. Don't search the sandbed. Go to elite aquatics and purchas the 12" acclimation/socialization box for next time you add a wrasse.

Thanks Poseidon, I got him for $49 and agree that he is my favorite fish in the tank so i'd be sad to lose him.

Ingtar, thanks for idea on the acclimation box. I'll definitely look into one of those for any future wrasse's that will be added to the tank (i'm addicted so i know they'll be more in the future). I'll keep everyone updated if she decides to make an appearance but its not looking good.

The Christmas wrasse caught my eye in that list as well; which species? If it's Halichoeres ornatissimus, this is certainly a possibility.
And +1 on using an acclimation box to add any additional wrasses.

I believe it is halichoeres claudia, i'll try and get a picture at lunch. Is there a way to tell the difference when they are juvenile as mine is only about 2'' long? Any suggestions on how to control the xmas wrasse or do you think its too late if he has already begun to pick on him?

It's a matter of pattern on the body:

And unless you see the aggression happening, it's not certain it is actually happening; it's simply a possibility. At this point, there's not much you could do, sans removing the aggressor.

Neither; that's H. biocellatus, the "Red Lined Wrasse". One of the most mild Halichoeres wrasses; not much of a potential problem.

Evolved, thanks for clarifying as the LFS said he was a xmas wrasse, go figure. I will keep my fingers crossed the Tamarin will show up, and hope that he is just still getting used to the lighting cycle and tank. If it reaches 3 weeks, i guess i'll have to consider her a loss. Thanks for all the help everyone!!
