Maybe if you rescape or turn the lights off for a day might help.

I never had any problems with my yellow goat and my yellow tang, but I had to get rid of my yellow tang later because he got mean and would not let any fish be placed in the tank after a while. How long has he been in the tank? This might be temporary or this might be a problem.
What I did at first to buy some time....dont laugh because it worked....was get a mirror and attach it to the side of your tank. Leave it there for a while. The tang will see its reflection and will start to go after itself and will eventually learn to stop when it bangs its head enough times. It honestly worked on my tang...for a couple months at least. And then it killed a lunar wrasse that I decided to put in. He also started going after my other fish that was in the tank...he teamed up with my foxface and they became the fish gang of my tank. Luckily this was about the time I was changing tanks so it was a perfect time to get rid of them!..back to the store..not anywhere else

It'll probably mellow out in two or three days. The YT is pretty territorial. Sometimes changing the aquascape can help. Lots of downsides to this though. Exposing dead spots in the rock, the time, stressing the other fish, the time.

this tang has been in their for about 6 months. it got put in my tank from my fathers when it almost died(he put some cheap phosphate remover in it and it broke down and posioned the fish). 2 months ago it almost killed my tang which i moved to my dads(it was the easiest to catch). but i never expected him to be aggressive to the goatfish. luckily he seems to be calming down a little bit.
