I wouldn't count of a fresh water dip. The parasite is below the skin and may or may not be affected. I've been battling similar problems for over a year. Three batches of fish all contaminated my display any ended up causing a major wipe out. My philosophy now is treat every new fish like it's contaminated. Everything goes into a quarantine and gets treated before going to the display. Fish can be carriers without showing symptoms so I don't blame the fish store anymore. There is hardly a fish store out there that you can't find at least one sick fish. I think the problem starts somewhere prior the fish store. I refuse to buy any fish from a tank showing any symptoms (spots or scratching) and the same if any ajacent tank fish are sick that are connected by the same system water. I'm starting to quarantine corals and inverts also. Coral got me with aipstasia and bristle worms. I believe any free floating parasites can be transported along wiith coral and inverts, and end up in the display when transfered if you don't at least dip them first. Good luck, and I'd get all the fish out and leave it 6 to 8 weeks. You can make a quarantine tank out of a plastic container. Add a heater, some circulation and check at least ammonia frequently. Water changes will have to be used to keep the quality good with no established bio going.

For the QT's bio filtration, you either need to do frequent water changes or take a sponge out of the DT and move it to the QT.

Frequent water changes are good anyway; if you suck up any gunk that ends up on the bottom of the tank, you'll also suck up some of the ich cysts. Also, keeping the water pristine helps fish heal, as they'll be less stressed.
