Well I picked up a powder blue tang on sat. Thinking that the yellow and it wouldn't fight bc they are different shapes and color I was wrong. Now the question is should I let it go or should I pull the yellow tang out and put him in my fuge for a week or 2 untill the blue settles in ?? What would you do ??

Not really a good idea to try 2 tangs in a 90. How big are they? How bad were they fighting? Did you feed the yellow tang before adding the powder blue?

If you want to have an Acanthurus and a Zebrasoma in the same tank, I would say the minimum size tank should be a 120

They are both around 4 inches and i added the blue in when lights were off to reduce stress and hoping nether would fight. Its more tail flapping at each other, its not as bad as it was on sat. but they are still doing it.

Well as long as they are not just relentlessly chasing each other around, nipping and/or biting then you may be ok. Do they tend to mind their own business or is the tail swapping all the time? Be honest, now. :)

That's not a mere display or threat.

All surgeonfish have a bony spike on their tail. They raise that out and use them for both defensive and aggressive purposes.

Not they tend to mind there own business and the tal slapping isnt allll the time. The blue is out grazing and swimming freely as we speak but the yellow always has his eye on him. and no it hasnt been recently it started with in the first 5 mins of the blue being in there.

Haha funny you say that, When i picked up my yellow (a few months back) i didnt notice until i got home but he is missing one of the white spike things. I must have healed nicely as there is no scar or indication that it was ever there.
