Primary diet is seaweed. It has the fats and proteins they need. They will eat about anything. I feed meaty foods every other day and occasional broccoli n, flakes. To mix it up they like Hikari sinkable algae wafers.

mine eats brine shrimp and flake food and once a week i put some nori in for it, goes crazy for it. i house mine with a coral beauty and i have never had an issue right from the start they seem very peaceful towards each other

i have never had mine pick at anything but algae, once introduced and established they are extremely hardy fish and eat vigorisly, they can also become very dominant of the tank and agressive towards newly added tangs or larger fish, but they are very beautiful and easy going once it is used to its tank mates.
