Can you post some pics? Blue-leg hermits stay relatively tiny. Sometimes juvenile Electric Blues get mixed in, but while they do get a bit larger than the Blue-legs, they're still far from being "monsters". There are some very large species of hermits, some of which are predators.

I will post up some pics. Maybe monsters is a bad choice of words. They just have gotten a lot bigger from when I got them.

I still DON'T believe the hermit crabs were the one to take the yellow tang down... I think they were the ones trying to finish him off but not the ones to take him down.

    +1

As already mentioned, some are actual predators. Many other species will develop opportunistic tendencies with age. While I have kept Electric Blues, Scarlets, and other larger hermits with no issues, I also ensured that they were well-fed.

looks like a grey hermit not a blue leg. The get big claws and cause problems for me in the past, as have zebra hermits.

I did, but then again im a little overly protective of my tank. I dislike 'questionable' hitchhikers. When I get an order of snails and hermit I put them in a tupperware so I can be sure I don't get any of those guys. snaills all crawl out and then i can inspect the hermits.
