Hi! I added a small yellow tang on Tuesday. It hasnt eaten off of the clip for me. I am putting a small piece (1/4 of sheet) on the clip and leaving it for a couple of hours. It doesnt go near it. However it does pick at the rocks for algea. It was eating in the pet store, i watched it be fed.
Maybe it just takes a while for it to adjust before it eats...????
    Any advice??
    Thanks
    JP

it took my Powder Blue a bit to start eating from my clip, I think it's def still getting adjusted to the new tank. Might immediately began picking at rocks but wouldn't go near the clip when it first went in. Give it a little I'm sure it will be ok, or maybe as someone else suggested, rubberband it to a rock to see if it will graze that way.

It can take them awhile to start eating from the clip. You can rubberband the nori to a rock, and that makes the grazing seem a bit more natural to the fish.

Tangs aren't strictly herbivorous- does it eat anything at all? Either way, I still wouldn't worry too much just yet. As already mentioned, it may take a few days to get accustomed to its new environment.

my yellow tang didnt eat it until i bought my sailfin, the sailfin instantly started eating off the clip and a few seconds later the yellow started and now they tear it up, my powder brown is barely starting to eat off the clip,

my yellow does not eat nori at all. its been since dec. 1st and it has never taken a single bit. for the first month it would eat stray algea off rocks but that stopped and now he only eats formula 2 and mysis. some do, some dont i guess.

Thank you all for the comments. I will try to rubberband it to my live rock as suggested. However, it was eating from the clip at the LFS. It is currently grazing in my tank, but my tank has minimal algea now.
    Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe try changing location of the clip. Or try changing the clip itself.
