I'm planning to get a yellow fish for my tank and deciding between a yellow tang and a banana wrasse. I have FOWLR, so no worries about reef safety for now. What do you guys think? Should I get a banana wrasse or yellow tang? I'm planning to have at least one wrasse in my tank, so I need some recommendations! (I was also thinking about the twin spot wrasse - but I have no idea what they're like - and the internet isn't very clear about what they're like)

    Its a big tank Haloist

but the sailfin may very well resent a Yellow Tangs presence and bully the new comer

a yellow wrasse on the other hand , will be mild mannered but depending on size may end up as Lion fish food

if you are worried about the wrasse becomming lion fish good and destroying his live fish are friends not food parade then i would go for the yellow tang, although there is a risk of aggression from the sailfin. with a FOWLER tank you can move some of the rock around to confuse the tang and distract him from his fellow Zebrasoma genus tank mate

ive heard success with salfins and Yellow tangs, i think as long as the yellow tang is smaller, then the salfin shouldnt bother it.

The sailfin and yellow may not get along because they have the same body plan.

The wrasse may be food for the lion.

You might want to consider something else, like a foxface or butterfly, so you can avoid those issues.

my cuzin has a salfin and yellow tang she had a pic on a thread of them together, the salfin was much bigger then the yellow tang, she has had them for a few months in her 125g, they never fought at all, so its up to you if you wanna try it go ahead.

Well, in my previous tank, I did have a yellow tang with a sailfin among other tangs, and they were fine with each other. But, if I get a yellow tang, I would need to get another tang/fish to confuse my sailfin a bit. I dunno, which fish do you guys think look better?
