there is the small chance they would get along, but a 90 is far too small to keep them IMO. The yellows can get very aggressive so it might beat up on the other one. The orange shoulders are beautiful. I'd consider one for my 90 if I didn't already have a hippo tang.

The orange shoulder will be way too big when it grows up, over 12" fully grown.

More like 14" long when fully grown. I agree, not a fish to have ina 90g, unless you upgrade before too long. Now the nice this about the orange shoulder tang is that of all the acanthurus tangs, it has the best demeanor, and is not mean.

The yellow would be fine in a 90. But as stated, orange shoulder would be well too big.

Plus always look at it like this, if you get the yellow it will force you to upgrade, I have a baby sailfin in my 65g tall now I have a 75g long which will be his new home for the next year or so. Average life for them is 5-7 years or you can have a crazy fish that last 9 years. At least your not throwing him in a 55g or smaller but a 90g will be ok for at least 2 years before you have to upgrade so think about that.

Never seen an orange shoulder (that started as a juvi) get to 14" in an aquarium. I've seen them caught that size.. but around 8-10" is more likely and they will get too big for a 90g. They are one of the more active tangs in my personal experience, other than sohals and clown tangs. Glad to see you made the right choice.

I think one yellow tang is plenty. He will have plenty of swimming room.

Hey how about posting some pics of your new Halide setup and your new Clam!
