Been thinking about adding one to my aquarium. LFS has some decent sized frags for $20. I thing that concerns me is a quote from another site related to care

"The Yellow Toadstool Leather Coral is very aggressive. The S. tenuispiculatum is toxic toward other corals due to their release of terpenes (poisons to ward off encroaching corals). They have been known to harm some stony coral species of Acropora like the Staghorn Acropora A. formosa, some species of Porites like P andrewsii, as well as the death of Catalaphyllia, Euphyllia, and Plerogyra species."

I keep many Eupyllia species including a wall frogspawn, branching frogspawn, branching hammer, and some unknown newly aquired euphyllia species. I would not want to risk losing these since they are some of my favorite.

So how aggressive is this coral? Does simply having one in the same aquarium harm other corals or or do they need to touch like an lps would harm an sps coral? I know about chemical warfare I run seachem carbon in a HOB filter and change it every 2 weeks (about 250ml of seagel on a 46gall system). It would be placed with a decent amoutn of rockwork between in and any of my lps but as it gets larger there is a chance it would come into contact with some softies or maybe an sps if it was not moved

Hmm it is actually listed as a Fiji yellow. Since only frags it does not have much of a stalk at this time so its hard to tell for sure but is there any way to tell a Fiji Yellow frag from a Yellow Toadstool frag??

Super easy. low-mid height in tank. Mine was almost dead when i got it. Brought it back do basically nothing to it. Have heard they can release toxin but i never had a problem. If your worried about it run carbon. Get one! Great addition to any tank.

Agreed. Provide good flow, keep it from touching other corals, and keep running your seagel and you'll be fine. Mine is nearly 8 inches across in a 29g tank, and it's not bothering anything else.
