I have one in my fuge with a pistol shrimp, I assume both are eating pods but I also toss some flakes down there for them every now and again and maybe a tiny piece or 2 of mysis.

I have a yellow watchman goby pair with a pistol shrimp which regularly spawn. They will feed on copepods, isopods and amphipods. Mine takes a mix of granules, flakes, mysis, krill and artemia, plus I have also seen them eat algal pellets and pieces of algal sheets (which were actually for my tangs) I have also seen them pass food items to the pistol shrimp. I have also observed on a few occasions the pistol shrimp cleaning dead scalesparasites off the sides of the gobies.

Why are you specifically asking about copepods? Gobies will eat most different pods if they're big enough for them to see (juvenile copepods are tiny).

If you are wondering if they need live food, the answer is no.

I think he's more concerned with reducing his pod population. They will eat pods but depending on the size of your tank you should be OK. I recently had to take my mandarin out of my DT and put her in my fuge because I have a 6-line in my DT that is hunting pods all day and I can't catch him.
