    Okay.
    First.
    I have a 30g saltwater tank.
I was wondering if I could mix Yellowtail Damsels and Ocellaris Clownfish?
I have searched everything and everyone has something different to say..
So, I want to know if there is a good yes or no?
The aquarium has a lot of live rock with a lot of hiding places, and caves.

    Thanks for your help!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Welcome to 3reef.

I have a yellow tail in my sump because my mature pair of clowns tried to kill it. My tank is 28 gallons.

In my opinion it has a lot to do with the type of clown fish. My Claki is MEAN! Also you have to consider how long your clowns have been in the tank to establish their territory. What other fish do you have in the tank?

The tank is still completely empty, I have it cycling still. It has an established amount of live rock, and I am thinking of Ocellaris Clownfish (the typical 'Finding Nemo' clownfish).

I have looked at numerous things that have said they will do fine, and numerous people saying they will kill each other.

I have doubt about everything, haha. I would just hate to spend all this money getting these fish just to watch them murder each other.

    What do you think?

What i think is dont do it.Its not worth the risk.

my damsel was in the tank first by himself and yes the tank was already cycled.

Then i added my clowns and firefish from my 20g.The clowns took over.

I only have " nano" tanks..and ive had them for years..every fews years i tend to add another to my collection..as a rule i ONLY use damsels to cycle my tanks..yes they have came out with some fancy ones in recent years..mainly for larger tanks where u cant fish them out..every LFS ive encountered has a trade in option for damsels..they are mean..and my ocellaris is extremely curious but wouldn't hurt a floating piece of algae..if u plan on having ANY other fish stay away from the damsels in this small tank..some one will end up dead..if ur gonna do a species of damsel..stick with the ocellaris..and maybe get him a dartfish to play with..mine stay together constantly..sorry if someone thinks my olpinion is sour..but these cheap and semi cheap damsels have always always caused nothing but problems in my small tanks..and watching them in nano cubes at LFS they are like swarming bees atacking anything they put with them..i saw a small scopas tang that did fine with them..but prob cause he can just slap them silly..good luck..always remember its ur tank and ur money..u never know what fish will do..

I put two yellowtail damsels in my tank back in June after my tank had finished cycling. These are the only two fish I had with the exception of a scooter blenny that I no longer have in the tank. A little over a month ago I added two snowflake clownsfish to my tank. I rearranged the rock work a little in hopes that everyone would find a place to find home. Until just a few days ago, the damsels would chase the clowns up into the top right corner of the tank. I have noticed that the fish seem to get along a lot better now, and I haven't seen the damsels chasing the clowns anymore. I still plan on getting rid of the damsels just plainly because they are known to be mean and territorial towards other fish.
