Behind the drywall in the cieling there is joists. You just need to find them and you can drill into them.

Do You Think that this is too much light for my tank?
It is a metal halide + vho combo hood. It has 2 x400 watt halides,2x110 watt vho, and moonlights.

I hope not because I just bought it ;).................... John

Well hottielover14 I went and did it ;)

HOLY CRAP! Thats allottta Light!!!! Don't want your 'lectric bill ;D

Gonna keep lots of SPS's? I have only 1 MH at 175 watts and 2 96 watt VHO actinics and when people come over they are like.."wow"! Now I don't plan on keeping alot of SPS...just a few choice spots for some Monti Caps and a couple of clams ;)

BTW, they look like really nice lamps!

Yes I do want to keep SPS corals and I know it is a lot of light but I got a great deal on it. I figure that if it is to much I will put 14000 bulbs in it halides and have the VHO's shut down when the halides come on. What do you think? :-/ John

Only one way to find out! Fire it up! You could probably do your reading from across the room with just the fish tank on! LOL!

2 lights look nicer. I have darker areas to the sides of my tank. the 2 bulbs look more even. Well, for sure you know you can keep anything you want, you have plenty of light! It should be fine!

My neighbors are going to think I have a UFO landing in my house. [smiley=hehe.gif]
I haven't received the light yet and I have to get the bulbs for it also so it will be a little while before I see what it looks like on. 8)............... John

DAMN, that was fast fletch, it looks awsome fletch. good job on getting them and good choice. if you don't mind how much do they set u back. You can never have too much light the more the better. Like me you can grow anything in there now. You have 1020 watts total thats awsome and your tank will look awsome. where did u buy them from. what color of bulbs and what kind of ballast.

    Hi hottielover14

I am not sure yet about what bulbs to put into it :-/I was kind of hoping I could get some subjections from the wonderful folks here on 3Reef.com ;D I was thinking for the halides I would put it 2 10,000k bulbs and for the VHO 2 Actinic's :-/

    Or 2-13,000k halides and for the VHO 1-actinic and 1 10,000k :-/

I don't know yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated ;)

I am going to try hanging it over the tank as see if it will be ok like that But if there is a lot of stray light coming from it I will put it into a canopy...... John

So How is your lights coming along?
