Hello eveyone! I am about to start my 1st time with SW, let alone reef. Been a FW hobbyist for 20 years, and the bug finally kicked in. I will be have MANY questions, over the next few months. I can't wait to add some of my system info, when I have a system!

well congrats and welcome to the SW hobby. i love it much better than freshwater, this forum is great, very good advice around.

but i suggest you're carefull on starting your first saltwater tank as a straight reef, get lots of info, you'll see how easy it is to upgrade from FOWLR to a reef.

    congrats and good luck ;)

Welcome to 3reef. There's alot of us that stepped up to SW tanks and haven't looked back. It takes a little more dedication than FW but well worth it. Hope you enjoy :) .

Hey there. I envy the hell outta you for being able to even keep a FW. Every freshwater thank that I have ever had has been a sad failure. This includes my failed attempt at a 95 gallon wavefront planted tank. That tank got sold. I personally find sw easier and this is why. Everything you need is found in your salt. So RO water and salt. That's it. Don't start dumping a bunch of chemicals into your tank untill you know your tank. If you are mixing correctly, keeping and nourishing the right fish for a beginner, and testing your water you will be fine. We are all here to help you and I'm sure I'll learn something from you as I have learned from everyone here. GOOD LUCK

We were all beginners once (which is kind of ironic considering I still am at one years experience). Anyway you'll quickly learn and welcome to 3reef.
