My green Mandarin is now eating flakes. I put some in this morning and she(I think it is a she???) went to the top and started picking at the flakes. I could not believe it. Here are the pics. Not the best quality as she was constantly on the move. Now I have seen everything.;D

I use Ocean nutrition Prime Reef flakes. you can see some of the flakes floating on the top where the fish is.

i agree. She now has been seen eating blood worms, brine shrimp both live and frozen and ocassionally I have seen her pick at pellets at the bottom of the tank and now flakes. I have to give credit to my wife she has got both the Mandarins eating all kinds of stuff.

Hunger will make you eat anything. But in this case, its a good thing.

I am not sure how hungry she was as she ate well last night so she was not starving or anything. She is also quite fat. Not as fat as the spotted but quite heffty. I think she has been watching the other fish eat flakes and she gave it a try. I usually put the flakes in first to get the other fishes attention so I can spot feed her and the other fish do not steal her food. She will actually eat the food right out of the tube of the spot feeded I made as does the spotted. In any event I am happy about the flakes. I will keep an eye on her the next couple of days to see if she continues.

Wow, that is really cool. I've had one before and he was the pickest eater ever.
