    yes my mandarin was doing the same he would eat pretty much anything i had him for quiet some time till he got himself stuck in a rock :( ... to sex them look at their dorsal fin ( on their back) if they stick it up and it is big and pointy you have yourself a male :)

    If the Dorsal fin is real tall it is a male. The short dorsal is a female.

    If I had something to compare it to that would help. I am pretty sure she is a she and the spotted is a male.
