I am really digging the Hofer overflows. So much quieter than the Durso's on my 75. :) The standpipes are adjusted so that the overflow into the box doesn't have so far to fall as the stock standpipes I had before, so the noise from the tank is minimal. The noisiest thing on the tank is the Iwaki pump. While the pump is pretty powerful, and is small, it has quite a hum. I put some soundproofing foam under it which helped a great deal, and I believe the source of the noise is the fan it has.

I think I may look into replacing it with a PanWorld pump, I have heard those before and those are dead silent. I wish I could use a Reeflo pump but that would just be to large for this tank and application. I am very happy to have all external pumps, except for the Tunze on my skimmer, which produces pretty much 0 heat. The tank is staying at a constant 76-77 degrees which is my target temperature. Heater actually kicks in from time to time for a change.

    lol, thanks.

Well, I managed to haul a trash can in the living room, get the zip lock bags out and find my fish net. All that hard work deserved some rum and beer and a late lunch. Now I'm watching Shrek.

What is cool though is my i-Tech, even after being dry for a week, has a poofy solid foam head and is skimming clean water. Well, it was dirty but is clean now I guess since there is a little dirt on the top of the foam head LOL

All but one fish transferred over. My damn Tang decided he was going to swim into the old closed loop intake pipe and he comes out, then darts back in. The strainer is gone and every time he comes out he darts back in before I can close it off. I'm about tired of this. One step away from opening the ball valve and letting him flush out the bottom of the tank into a bucket.

If it was me, and he could safely be flushed out, that's what I would do.

It may not be safe, as he could get caught in the pipe. He's rather large and there are a couple 90's in the pipe.
