I can't seem to get a straight answer as to when the salinity module is going to be coming out. It's "should be" and "probably sometime before the end of the year." It's already here for the RKE. RKE $550 shipped with 'net from aquacave with a 5% discount. I know 4 people with the RKE, they all love the unit, and it's very easy to program from what they said. None have had any bad experiences, and I've seen one unit bad out of box here on 3reef for the Apex.

Also, there are threads in the Neptune Systems forum at RC with users complaining how difficult and a PITA the unit is to program and they regret buying it. Granted, there are the same amount of users saying how they love it. Seems to be a love it or hate it thing, and just seeing the RKE in person and hearing firsthand from trusted individuals makes some difference to me.

The firmware was a problem people were having with the display which has been sorted out. I think both are great controllers and it really depends on what you need right now. As far as programming I didn't have any problems. The problems on RC I find are networking issues as far as people having issues forwarding ports which will be an issue with either controller. If you have any problems tat please pm and Ill give you a hand.

Picked up some sweet armor of god polyps today, as well as a beautiful tomini / flame fin tang. He's a bit shy right now and hiding in the rocks, but hopefully he warms up and comes out soon. I can see him grazing the rocks where he's hiding so I think that's a good sign.

Also, super stoked - I won an the Dr. Burgess atlas of marine aquarium fishes - autographed copy at the local reef club meeting. Excellent reference :)

    Thank you :)
Thank you for the compliment! I have stopped dosing the .25ml vodka for now, until I get the controller up and going and get a more reliable skimmer. I did not dose long enough to notice sustained benefits, but nitrates were significantly reduce, water was clearer, etc.

Tank looks great. What bulbs are you running on the odysea fixture?
