Or i just buy it now when no one is paying attention and dont tell her. lol

She hasnt noticed one new fish or coral in there. I doubt a skimmer would look any different than two rocks do

They're about $450+ shipping. The pump is a Tunze Hydrofoamer 9410.04. I highly recommend the skimmer, the customer service is top notch. Super quiet.

I have it skimming a bit dry - the cup / neck is caking with brown sludge daily. :)

cool.... coole lookin skimmer. You seem real happy with it.

my collection cup has some dark dark skimmate.... not tea colored at all.chunky and nasty. even though its not a huge amount... the darkness and chunks make up for it.

I have clear tubing running from the drain on it capped off so emptying is extra easy... all done out side the sump. And I cant see through the skimmate in the tubing. 3/8" tubing. Its a beautiful thing

Awesome! That XP 2000 is a very nice skimmer - good review you wrote up too :)

So far, I'm very happy with this skimmer. I was beginning to get dark skimmate on my first I-Tech - the current skimmer body I have has only been running for 3 full days; I got a replacement from FAOIS because the cup didn't fit properly and he sent me a new one. So this one is still breaking in, I expect after a few more days I will get darker skimmate - break in shouldn't be much longer - using the original cup and pump :)

Got some new frags coming in this week. Some colorful ricordia will be here tomorrow. Also depending on when they ship, I will have an xfactor sapphire polyp monitopora, Tyree LE Blue Chalice Echinopora lamellosa, and a LE Alien Eye Echinopora here by Wednesday or Thursday :) can't wait!
