    Got my new frags in today, as well as my reefcleaners order! Beautiful frags. I'll probably buy more from this guy.

    Reefcleaners order was healthy and chock full of extra snails as well, I see no reason to ever buy anywhere else. Kudos dude. Will be glad to get those mangroves planted.

    Can't keep SPS in my tank. They slowly wither away and algae develops on any new growth at the tips, no matter what I do.

    Selling all SPS, and some other corals. Either redesigning the tank, or tearing down.

    Dude... what's the deal? You obviously have tried to figure it out. Do you have any idea at all? Does make for a fine excuse to move up to the bigger tank you wanted, but you don't want the same thing.

    I have no freaking idea. What has become a fun hobby is becoming more stressful to deal with - wonder what's going to happen next. I will be testing for stray voltage this weekend, I doubt that's a cause, just want to rule it out.

    My parameters are as follows.

    SG - 1.025. Never fluctuates. I have an ATO so no drastic swings and sudden temp changes.
    Nitrites = 0
    Ammonia = 0
    Phosphates - Test kit undetectable, but I know they exist, just minimal - I run Phosguard for PO4
    Nitrates - 10 or under usually. Has read 0 at times.
    Temp - stays around 77-78.5. Controller makes sure of that. See my sig for whatever my pH is currently.
    I also run Purigen; carbon for any other contaminents. I use RO/DI water.

    Flow is excellent. Algae barely grows in my tank. Fish are healthy. Coralline is encrusting dang near everything.

    I can't keep SPS, never have. My LPS don't grow. I look at other reefer's frogspawn, etc. and they grow. Mine just stay the same.

    I have no idea what's wrong. My equipment is good. Lighting good. Everything pretty much stays stagnant - looking healthy, or dies. I have a local sale going on, probably will sell more in the next couple weeks. I will either redesign and restart this tank, or nothing at all. I will not be upgrading to any larger tank in the foreseeable future.

    That sucks. I can't say why I'm sucssesful. Beginers luck. I have no doubt the same problems will befall me as everyone else. Things are going good though and I think I have good growth.

    I started with a good set up, but made a lot of changes quickly, so I can't really say what has been the biggest improvement. I think my fuge helped a lot and I have a lot of LR. 140 lbs. I have always had a healthy clean up crew. Run carbon and just started GFO. Have not made any changes lately so I'm intersted if I see an improvement from the GFO.

    What I see the biggest influence from is from when my Alk/ca/mg is out of wack. Used store bought stuff, added a bunch of coral, got behind. Tried to catch up, overshot, went to 2 part and it has been a little hard getting it dialed in. I have had the same readings now for the last month and think I finally got it. Seems like during all that time I could really tell the coral did not appreciate it. I don't shoot for extreme...425-450 ca, 9.5-10 alk, 1300mg.

    I don't dose any magic potions and feed DT's phyto. Just went to Reef Nutrition roties and oyster eggs. Curious how they will respond.

    I decided to turn my temp up to 80, it was 78, and I went to the total darkness I mentioned. I saw a big improvement from that.

    Any clues that you have critters from all those frags you have been introducing? Do you dip and all that? Are you sure fish are not pecking. A blenny of all things was eating my brain. He had to go but it was a suprise to me.
