Picked up the JBJ Arctica chiller for my tank today. Will get this plumbed in to the return next weekend. New ballasts should be here mid week. Plan to swap out to new bulbs when they get here.

I'm going to start selling off the rest of my LPS corals soon. They won't be able to handle the Vortechs once I crank them up a bit for the SPS. I'll begin stocking some SPS corals after doing a few more major water changes (I have a couple beautiful ones on hold), and installing a new sump and refugium next weekend. My tank will be a year old in a month :)

I'm excited for all your new stuff! I can't wait to see your fuge (I'm jealous). Where does the chiller go? Just to the side of the tank, or what?

The chiller will go next to the stand where there is plenty of ventilation. The air exchange cannot be obstructed so I will run the return from the sump to the intake of the chiller, then the out from the chiller will go back into the stand and into the return of the tank. The fuge won't be much to see, just a deep sand bed with a bunch of macro algae and a light.

Jealous? You just built a whole new tank ;D

This anemone loves the flow. It crawled up and set under the flow accelerator from the closed loop when I had that up and going. I thought it would move but it has since doubled in size (it's now about 12 inches across) and is very sticky and dark green - so it's happy.

I have each MP40 on about 1/4 power right now, for a total of about 3,000gph through the display. One nice thing about the Vortech's is the flow is random (I have them in anti-sync on reef crest mode) so it's not just getting blown in one direction. I'll play it by ear and see how it reacts as I ramp up the flow and if it's too much it will go, otherwise, my clown likes to hump it all day and I don't want to deprive her. lol

Poor thing is frustrated and confused already, it's that or the rock nearby. She can't make up her mind::) At least she sleeps with the anemone.:p
