Anyone know what kind of leather this is? It's about the size of a softball.

I dont think that is a leather, looks more like a pocilipora/stylopora maybe?

No idea :) It's pretty though, and can retract the fuzzy polyps. It is soft, kind of like a leather coral

Been a while since an update. Everything seems to be growing nicely and coralline has taken over the tank (need to find a decent scraper to keep it off the front glass). I have a Maxima clam ordered, and it should be here Friday. Will take pics when it arrives - pretty stoked, I love clams.

Got my clam in today. I acclimated for about an hour, dosed about a shot glass of my water into the bag every 10 minutes. I placed it about 3/4 of the way down on a rock where it should be able to plant its foot. Nice amount of flow to the area without blasting it. I'm crossing my fingers... hopefully it does well!

The coloration is very nice. Not really ultra grade but stil marked very well. It opened up almost immediately, and it's very light sensitive. I'll take some pics in the morning!

I would be stoked as well... The minute I can get my hands on one her in Trini, I'm gonna get it. I'm running a 500W MH system on a 75 so I don't see a prod. I thin I need a chiller/chiller alternative before though. My tank presently sits at 82-86F. I won't dare put a clam in there right now.::)
