Glass order is ready to be picked up! Stopping by the hardware store for some good clamps to hold it together while I silicone it.

Also, I've got to pick up 2 more fittings, and I'll have the overflow plumbing from my fuge completed. Hopefully I'll be posting pictures tonight.

Once I give the tank a final rinse and install my overflows, I'll be ready to move it in and finally get the rest of the plumbing done!

Also, I've got a few areas where the paint doesn't look right from where I painted the back. Not sure if the spots were oily or something, but I think I am going to try to scrape them and repaint those sections.

Slowly coming together. I might need to order my base rock before I know it :)

Here's a couple pictures of the fuge in place:

I found I had a base left over from a storage unit in the garage... was the perfect size for this.

I also got my glass cut for my overflows. Probably won't get a chance to do anything with it until next week though :/

I haven't had time for any more work on the tank. However, I have been thinking that I want to make some sort of super easy/cheap overflow for my fuge. Doesn't have to be pretty, but just want to limit the amount that will flow into my small sump in the event of a power outtage.

    Any Ideas?

Looks like I am going to be making a overflow box using a 3d printer, depending on price.

I messed up my arm in a bicycle accident over the weekend, so tank build is on hold for that. At the rate I am healing, hopefully it's only a couple days... but if I don't have my range of motion back by thursday I'll be heading to the doctor and then we'll see how long I'm outta commission for :s

In the meantime, here's a teaser video of what the tank looked like from the previous owner before he upgraded to a larger tank. Hopefully one day in the distant future mine can be comparable!

Still got a little more cleaning to do as the flash shows (it looks way better than when I started, and it's crazy how much dirtier the flash makes it look!), but I am dry fitting my overflow glass before I paint it.

I'm a little concerned I might need to move my durso's down. It's so tight in there, it means I'll probably gotta cut the pipe and under where it's connected and move it down. What do you think, is it too high? I definitely need to do it BEFORE I silicon the glass in.

Feedback I've gotten so far is that it should be close... and that lowering it later is easier than raising it later.

ANYONE here have any thoughts on it????

    Progress!

Got some plumbing to do, and then I am done until I can buy the rest of the pieces.

Only two concerns as of now:

During water testing of my overflows I realized one of my bulkheads has a SLIGHT leak. It's on the inside of the bulkhead, so I am praying that the leak will just be into the plumbing.

Also, the tank is slightly unlevel. Should be able to shim it, but it'll be a bit of work to get it leveled correctly.

congrats on getting it wet! personally I think raising it would be easier, all you'd haver to do is add a coupler to raise it an inch or 2, no worries, IMO. But I would fix the bulk head, mine leaks a drop every hour or so, no big deal, but just kinda bugs me.

Congrats on the work done so far, tank is gonna look sweet;)

Ya, I definitely don't want it to leak if I can avoid it, and plan on trying to get it fixed when I do the plumbing. If nothing else, I can put the sump directly below it so if it drips a little it'll at least fall into the sump

I recommend putting your tank on some foam to help keep the load even. And, if possible shim the whole stand instead of just the tank. It's critical not to have any torque on the glass.

Stand looks good, man. Good progress!
