Hey bud, i don't want to be 'that guy' but one day a chunk of xenia will float off your rock in the fuge, then travel to your return pump, and be split into a billion chunks to grow evenly throughout your tank. Yeah I know this is extreme but I would cook the rock in hypersalinity and cycle it again.

Very nice job with the tank and stand.

If you have to get a new powerhead, I've had very good luck with the JBJ Ocenstream as compared to the Koralia. Smoother flow and no clicks when starting with the wavemaker.

Ya, it's actually going to go back into the 30 gallon it is now. Just moving to the sump when I move everything over so I can get as much of the existing bacteria into the new system as possible to avoid much of a cycle.

Once everything is in the clear, I think I will let the whole thing dry out, then use it to restart the cycle in my nano (since I plan on resetting that up as a species only tank down the road).

    *gulp* MP40 ordered :|

I have my controller all programmed and everything else installed. I am thinking of only having my LEDs at like 35% power for the transition from T5's with old bulbs. Still waiting on my rocks. My sand is scheduled to arrive tonight!

My LEDs will need some altering on the hanging kit I think to get it higher off the water. I am going to wait until I have it full though to see if I am getting too much spotlighting or not.

Second half of my order FINALLY shipped yesterday.

Should be here next tuesday, then I can finally move forward.

I am also debating whether I want to cycle it… or transfer the live rock over. Adding the high flow of the MP40 has really kicked a lot up off the rocks, and it made all the aiptasia come out… didn’t realize how many I had. I know sooner or later my tank is going to get aiptasia… but I think I may want to wait to introduce it.

So, I need to think of a good, reef safe aiptasia predator. I think I am going to pickup a peppermint shrimp and give it a try (I hear they’re really hit and miss).

Also, the flow from the MP40 is so insanely much better (even on the lowest) than my pathetic koralias. I’ve officially decided I am not setting my nano back up as a dwarf lion tank until I get a small vortech for it.

Also, sadly, my submissive clown has gone MIA in my Nano. All my coral and other fish seem fine. I think he might just have been a victim of too much bullying from the other clown. He didn't show his face during feeding time, which is abnormal. And then even when I was doing a waterchange, I never saw any signs. The only positive about it is the timing. New Tank is the perfect time to introduce a new clown with my other.

I'm just worried about my population of aiptasia being enough to support one for long. There is a member in the local reef club that was trying to breed them, so I might hit her up if the peppermint shrimp doesn't work! I just don't want to worry about taking something out before it starves if I run out of aiptasia

ahh, I think it takes numerous amounts of them to make a dent, they're super small I guess. I always thought a 3reefer should buy some and then just trade them to others, plenty of peeps have plenty of aips on here;)

Hmmm... maybe something to consider if the peppermint doesn't help. I like ornamental shrimp, so I still am going to go that route first :)
