Very nice, congratulations on the addition of corals.

I was just thinking yesterday I had not seen any recent post on this thread. Glad to see everything is progressing well. The scape looks very nice, I like the lid.

New puppy must be keeping you guys busy. :)

Very busy! He also went through a stage (thankfully it was brief!) of chewing cords.

Just got my replacement laptop power cord allowing me to get back on and post pictures, lol

The day I took those pictures, my duncan wasn't looking as happy as normal (usually extends WAY out from all the heads). I was thinking part of it was that it was the night section of the cycle. Anyway, as a precaution, I did a water change (salinity and everything checked out). Since then, everything seems super happy, except my duncan, who is still closed up. I haven't target fed him in a while... could that be the issue? I've also read sometimes they'll close up as they grow new heads?

I will run tests on the water tonight when I get home. I haven't changed anything in the tank for a while (I added the frogspawn over a week ago, and it's been fine. Did do a full clean of my skimmer and replaced carbon at time of water change. Haven't touched powerheads in a while). Any thoughts?

It has been my experience that Duncans can have good days and bad days (just does not expand as much). For me this was usually related to swings in SG. I can tell my SG may be off just by how my Duncan looks.

I imaging it will open back up in a day or two after the wc.

I feed mine once a week, pellets or Rod's Foods.

ok, that's what I'm hoping! It's probably my favorite coral, and generally looks really good. Just this week it seems a little off. I had some frozen food I have been feeding it, but the girlfriends parents visited. Her mom got bored while we were at work and did a deep clean of the house... I think she threw away the fishfood not knowing what it was! lol. Guess I'll just have to try spotfeeding it pellets tonight.

I love watching the duncans and shrimp fight over food!

Also, I dont have an ATO yet... so I can def see it being a SG issue.

On another topic, I found a good price on a small Birdsnest frag. Going to try it out, hopefully it does well. After a week of light accl, I am planning on putting it in high flow at the top of my rockwork. Should be here Tuesday :) (close enough to send priority mail instead of overnight woo! :) )

eeek! I go to the lake for the weekend and I come home, and all my coral looks fine (duncan a little more closed than normal) but my frogspawn looks TERRIBLE! It looked like it was pulling back from it's skeleton (though, weird, it still looked puffed out in the other direction). I moved it to a super sheltered area with VERY low flow since the moderate flow looked terrible on the area it was pulling back. :(

I am wondering if it was a temperature thing. First hot days of the summer... hadnt flipped on the AC yet. Hope it makes it, but I'm not holding my breath. Luckily it's only a single head.

I would for sure consider it a temperature issue. It's strange my sps do ok and do not looks stressed when the temp climbs. The lps and the soft corals on the other hand looked stressed for days. Hope you can save it.
