It is a dry heat, yeah right !

That is a bummer, but it happens.

I have had it happen more than once. Euphyllias once they get stressed they can go very fast. It's not something I would fret over.

Brown jelly disease or a similar protozoa was probably able to gain a foot hold.

Ya. It was the first loss in my tank. So considering how long into it I am, I think I am doing ok.

I really enjoyed the frogspawn, so hopefully a few months down the road I can try again and have some better luck!

Moved some powerheads to slow current. Duncans openned half up.

Today, I guess they're closed tight again. Doing a decent waterchange tonight.

Would a light reaction cause that? They had been opening up in the same spot for a while.

Ordering an ATO system next week, hope it helps.

I moved the duncan, it got knocked over (hermits seem to flock to anything changed in the system)... so I moved it again. In the shade now, with slow flow. I have it on a small peice of live rock that I put in the sand so hopefully it won't tip over. Will probably be a couple days til I can tell if it wants to open or not.

Also, I tested my water again last night. I'm suddenly seeing an ammonia reading of .25! Did a 5 gallon water change. Planning on testing tonight. Everything (except the duncan) seems happy and fine.

I also have found a couple little hitchhikers that must have come in on some coral. There tiny little anenomes or tube worms. I've been trying to get pictures but they're just so small! I'll try again this week, hopefully I can figure out if they are bad or not.

Couldn't get a good picture of the anenome, but it's definately an anenome. Probably going to try and nuke it soon.

I also found, potentially, the source of my ammonia. Looks like one of my large snails died (not surprising, it's about time my cleanup crew started succumbing to lack of excess food). Looked like the rest of the CuC was having a hard time getting to his meaty bits. I'm thinking of adding something in aiding in removing the little ammonia I have left.

sorry if you have explained this already...but I could not find any mention of it.

Are you running any filters in addition to the skimmer (with carbon in return section)?
