I think there is a friendship here :) Nice job zesty being so patient and really wanting to do it right. That is commendable! You probably will be in this hobby for the long haul. Imagine what you will have over time - endless...

Haha, it wasn't me being patient, it was my wallet! haha! I am glad I took my time though, it really helped me figure out what was going on, especially since it's my first sump and all!

So, here are some more pictures, I figure why not. The old HOB skimmer that worked, but now looks like an old relic. The new octo is producing 3-4x the bubbles easily just in the chamber, it's AWESOME to see this skimmer produce! This is one of the days where I wish I worked from home.

some more pictures, I had some chaeto in my bubble catcher of the other skimmer, I figured I'd not let it go to waste. I just wished I would have rinsed it before putting it in there. DOH! now it's getting dirty, oh no! haha

I am really excited to have this running. Now I can obsess over something else with my tank for a while! ;D

Just a short video of the sump 5 days old. Don't mind Mr Cash in the background.

And also, I got the JBJ ATO hooked up to a bucket of RO/DI. This picture only shows the part that looks good, the rest is just wires and a aqualifter sitting on the floor... haha
Right now, I just have this in the return section of the sump. This is where the water starts to fall first.

I do need to get some wire management going!

Looking great zesty! You're doing all the right stuff! Looks like a pro. Also seems that Todd got you a nice bunch of chaeto! Why do there seem to be so many wisconians in close proximity on this sight :) Do you all like cheese and reef tanks? lol

Who doesn't??? You forgot to mention the beer. That's another hobby, homebrewing!!
I've met a lot of great people in the area, I feel lucky that there is a great community of people willing to help a newb like me out. It was also the same with homebrewing. Moving to Wisconsin has been one of my best life moves! ;D

It may look like a pro, but I am far from feeling like one at this. Sit me down and talk fermentation and I can give you more than enough info. Ask me what my calcium level in my tank is and I'll pull out this face :-[
